Notification of Terry Hershey Park Interlocal Agreement – Harris County Commissioners Court Agenda
Feb 21st, 2014
Notification of Terry Hershey Park Interlocal Agreement on Harris County Commissioners Court Agenda:
On Feb. 25, Harris County Commissioners Court will consider approval of a new interlocal agreement between the Harris County Flood Control District and Harris County for a public recreation area (Terry Hershey Park). The previous 20 year agreement expired at the end of October 2013. The term of the previous interlocal agreement (20 years) was set in 1993; the timing of its renewal is not related to the ongoing survey in Terry Hershey Park.
The proposed agreement has current standard language used for the occasion when another public entity wishes to use Flood Control District land for public recreation. The proposed agreement establishes a term of 25 years, removes old language about horse stalls and pasturing facilities as those facilities are no longer applicable, and reaffirms the understanding that the Flood Control District’s rights are paramount.
